HUMAN RESOURCES TEAM CHARTER

The mission of the Human Resources Department is to support and promote
the organizational objectives of Lutheran Social Services
established by the Board of Directors and Executive Management.
The Human Resources Department mission
will be accomplished by assuring:

fair and consistent application of Human Resources and Administration policies
throughout all levels of the organization
the accuracy and confidentiality of records for all employment-related
information and documentation
compliance with all relevant State and Federal government bodies, regulatory agencies
and legal entities and associated legislation, statutes, regulations and orders
continuous efforts to provide an outstanding employee relations environment for
all employees of LSS and an employee communication process to support those efforts
the recruitment of qualified candidates through

the use of established and creative strategies to encourage
external applicants to apply for positions
the management of positive policies to maximize the promotion
and transfer of internal applicants

the growth and development of all LSS personnel through job-specific inservice education,
external seminars and conferences and tuition assistance for post-secondary education
the management of an increasingly diverse work force through appropriate training and education
the on-going viability of a market-based compensation program that is externally
competitive and internally equitable to adequately recognize and reward employees
a comprehensive array of cost-effective employee benefit programs perceived
as competitive and functional by employees
Our highest priority is to continually improve departmental performance.
