
Built on a strong tradition of providing comfort, compassion and meaningful service to its community, Lutheran Social Services became widely known as a leader in sponsoring community programs.
Each of four subsidized senior housing buildings located in Jamestown, New York, offers independent living for those 62 and over who are income eligible. Some units are available for physically handicapped individuals 18 years of age and older who meet the eligibility and income guidelines. A project located in Falconer, New York, is designed for physically handicapped families and contains 12 duplex apartments - 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units.
The LSS Neighborhood Network Computer center is a HUD initiative that is housed in the Ernest G. Anderson Manor apartment building at 8 Crane Street in Jamestown. Through the availability of training, access to new computers, and the Internet, seniors now have the opportunity to learn computer technology. Individualized instruction allows seniors to surf the Net, pursue hobbies, play games, and communicate via E-mail.
