Senior Life Matters

The issues that older adults face can feel overwhelming. “Can I still manage this house and all the maintenance? How do I choose the best insurance for my needs? Should I ask my children for help cleaning and shopping or hire someone? Can I get some Medicare help and guidance?” These questions and others can be a daily struggle. We’re here to help.

Senior Life Matters is a program designed with one goal in mind: to keep seniors where they want to be! We employ Geriatric Care Managers and Service Coordinators who connect individuals with the services, coverage, and information they need to remain safe and independent. We also help seniors determine their next steps in life if their situation changes. From downsizing a home to planning for long-term care, we are here to help you every step of the way. There are many facilities in the region with many different options. We help find the one that best suits your needs!

What is a Geriatric Care Manager?

Geriatric Care Managers (GCM) are the eyes and ears for family who live out of town but want to know that their senior loved ones are taken care of. The primary purpose of a GCM is to ensure that seniors and their families have supportive services available that will help protect their quality of life.

Janell Sluga, Geriatric Care Manager, is a member of the Aging Life Care Association and is the resident expert on all things Medicare on the Lutheran Campus!

If you have questions on which Medicare coverage is right for you, give her a call. Also, Medicare seminars are held free of charge to the community in March and October each year.
